A loss-in-weight feeder continuously weighs what's leaving the hopper and adjusts screw speed in real time to hold the target feed rate. A volumetric feeder just runs the screw at a fixed speed and assumes the material's bulk density stays constant — which real chemical powders rarely do.

Why do you recommend twin-screw over single-screw for something like carbon black or pigment?

Twin-screw configurations use two screws working together to actively break up bridging and caking in the hopper, which matters for cohesive, low-density powders like carbon black. Single-screw units suit more free-flowing chemical powders where bridging is less of a risk.
